What it is
Camelback Mountain is the landmark that defines the Scottsdale/Phoenix skyline — a red-rock peak you'll spot from pool decks and patios all over town. The public Cholla Trail is a genuinely tough hike (steep, scrambly in spots, no shade), which is exactly why most groups book a guided option instead of freelancing it.
