What it is
Topgolf Las Vegas is a three-level driving range reimagined as a sports bar — climate-controlled hitting bays looking out over a massive outfield lined with giant dartboard-style targets. Every ball is microchipped, so it tracks itself when it lands and posts your score straight to the video screen in your bay. No one needs to know a 9-iron from a putter; the games are built like arcade challenges (closest to the target, points for distance) so the person who's never held a club can still land a lucky shot and win a round.
Each bay fits up to 6 players and comes with its own HDTV, plus a full food and cocktail menu delivered right to you. The building itself is a whole entertainment venue: a 48-foot video wall, five bars, two pools (21+, no cover), VIP cabanas, and a 900-person concert venue for bigger events. It's just off the Strip behind MGM Grand, with free on-site parking — a rarity on Las Vegas Blvd.

What to budget: Pricing is per bay, per hour, not per person — standard (non-promo) rates in July 2026 run about $58/hr (open-noon), $78/hr (noon-4PM), $98/hr (4PM-10PM), and $78/hr (10PM-close), plus a $6 activation fee for new players. Split six ways, that's roughly $10-17/person for the bay depending on the time slot, before food and drinks. Topgolf regularly runs a "Half-Off Golf" promo Monday-Thursday — worth checking if your visit lands on a weekday.
Food and drinks: Order straight to your bay off the full menu, cocktails included — nobody has to leave the group for a round. Budget separately for food and drinks on top of the bay cost.
Time to set aside: Plan for at least 2 hours to get through a full game without rushing, more if you want the bar or pool after. It works well as an afternoon block ahead of dinner and a night out.
