What it is
Three murals on South Congress: "I Love You So Much" on the side of Jo's Coffee (1300 S Congress Ave — the most photographed wall in the city, so expect a short line later in the day), the "Greetings from Austin" postcard mural at Roadhouse Relics (1720 S First St), and "Love From Austin" (1912 S Congress Ave). All free, all outdoors, all within a short walk of each other on the SoCo strip. If you're already over in East Austin, "You're My Butter Half" at 2000 E MLK Jr Blvd is a fourth option worth a detour.
This isn't a guided tour — there's no operator, no app, no ticket. It's a self-directed loop you run on your own schedule.
Why it works for the group
Nobody wants to spend an hour "doing photos," and this doesn't require it. Walk up, get the group shot, walk out — 10 minutes if you're efficient at the main wall. It's the one photo that proves you were actually in Austin and not just at another generic bar crawl, and it costs nothing, needs no reservation, and doesn't eat into drinking time. Pair it with food or a coffee stop on South Congress so it doesn't feel like a standalone errand — this is a stop on the way to somewhere, not a destination in itself.
Realistically, most groups only bother with the Jo's Coffee wall since it's the most recognizable. Adding the other two or three only makes sense if you're already walking South Congress for shopping or food and want to knock them out along the way.
